We’re so lucky to be based at the foot of the glorious Blackdown Hills; an uninterrupted landscape of steep valleys, forest, farmland, rivers and streams. So grab your bike, walking boots, saddle, or dog, and head for the hills! With so much to see, history to learn, and villages to discover, you won’t tire of this hidden gem. 

Coldharbour Mill Working Wool Museum and Country Park

Recognised by Historic England as ‘one of the best-preserved textile mills in the country’, Coldharbour Mill Museum is the ideal family activity on a rainy day. Surround yourself with the rich heritage of life before the industrial revolution, get hands on with real machinery, check out their live events, attend seminars, and even browse their gift shop!

Thelma Hulbert Gallery

One for the art lovers! This award-winning public art gallery in Honiton hosts a popular programme of art and craft exhibitions, including pieces from both local and international artists, as well as a permanent selection of works by artist Thelma Hulbert. Don’t be afraid to take the little one who can join the gallery’s Creative Sessions to get their senses and imagination flowing! Admission is free, whilst donations are of course welcome!

East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Encompassing the Jurassic Coast, National Parks, thriving wildlife, stunning scenery, seaside towns, picturesque fishing villages and so much more… the East Devon AONB is just half an hour’s drive away. So, for hikes, bike rides and drives you won’t forget, we suggest heading on down with your camera! Stop for fish and chips by the sea, learn all about the local history, and spot the wildlife – you won’t regret it!

The Bear Trail

If the sun is out, then The Bear Trail in Cullompton guarantees a fun day for all the family – as long as you’re happy getting muddy! The award-winning outdoor attraction boasts an assault course of 30 obstacles to conquer; including bear nets, zip-wires, tunnels, climbing walls and much more. And after smashing the course, treat the family to wood-fired pizzas, paninis, and fresh drinks from the Bear Cave Café!
